Production has started on BattleBlade! Today, I loaded up Unity and started working on my FMP. I started by getting a basic template for the combat environment out of a sprite, afterwards I imported my Kaiku and Rabga sprites from Piskel. After this, I started the daunting task of programming! I realize it is very early in development to start coding but I wanted to at least get some basic programming done so the game isn't just a static image. Over the course of about 3 hours I managed to get player input over movement, jumping and shadow attacks. Current problems and bugs I need to fix include how the fire rate for the shadow attacks is too fast and how shadow attacks cause Kaiku to tilt a bit which can cause her to fall over, making her uncontrollable and breaking the game. As well as that, it is possible for the player to jump constantly and never fall down to the ground due to spamming the space bar. The characters are all still un-animated and this is what I will be working on tomorrow at College. Wish me luck!
